Weigh-In Wednesday: Shrink For Good
So, we weighed on Sunday and I weighed 144.6. Today, I weighed 144.2. So, since Sunday, I lost 0.4, but unfortunately I'm up since last week. UGH.
Unfortunately, I had to stop the Chalean Extreme program. While doing bicep curls with 10lb weights, I felt a sharp pain in my elbow. So, rather than push through it, I decided to let it heal. Since this was the second time that I've had to go off schedule of the program, I decided to stop and hopefully, I can try it again sometime in the future. Another thing, I'm working on building my dog, Kelci's endurance so we can start jogging together, so right now, I'm doing more walking than running. So, I know this is why I'm up some. I just need to work harder. I will work harder.
For the challenge, I'm trying Weight Watchers. I'm not going to lie. I'm a tiny bit frustrated. I've been a calorie counter for so long that I just kind of know how many calories the foods that I eat have in them. If I don't know, I'm pretty damn good at guessing. (Ask Christy. She witnessed this in Chicago at the McDonald's booth!) So, the only time now that I really write my calories down is if I'm unsure on how many calories I'm eating in a day. So, first, not knowing in my head how many points something has and two, having to write it down every day is just a little bit frustrating for me.
Having said that, I'm going to stick with it. I said I will, so I will. And who knows, maybe I'll start to learn how many points foods have in them!

It sure seems like you can do anything you put your mind to, so I think you are going to do great. By the way, do you teach a class on that?
so you made the big switch huh? i'm sure you'll have the points down pat in no time.
oh boo on the elbow! you're right to rest it! dude, i'm totally digging the ww thing and here's why: yes, it's points and that's a little weird, but it truly tracks your activity and adjusts what you need to take in depending on the activity you log! sparkpeople didn't put the two together, i just logged the activity and it would say to me, "looks like you gotta eat more!" but i'd never know what that meant! of course, you probably have that all down pat, but i didn't and since it figured it out for me i had a big loss this week! woot! i haven't tried the points out on the real world yet, that makes me worried and i'm in complete avoidance of it right now. anyhoo, good luck this week, i'm excited about this challenge man!
I'm so sorry you had to quit Chalean Extreme. Boo for the elbow injury.
You will get the points system down soon! I promise. You're a numbers girl!!
It's funny that Christie mentioned the whole avoidance thing. It is hard when you dine out, but you can use WW on your blackberry, so I tend to rely on that some. Sure, all restaurants aren't in their database, but you can at least get a pretty good idea :)
Good luck girl! I know you'll figure it out!

So sorry about the elbow. Good for you on sticking with your plan though. You can do it!
Hope the elbow feels better...that's what 10 lb weights do to you! I can't imagine!
Pretty soon you'll be used to counting points, you'll be doing the math in your head in no time!
I was doing Spark people just before this, so I hear you on the calorie counting.
I've done WW before thought, and it works. We just need to stick with it.
We can doooo itttt!
You'll pick up the points before you know it.
That sucks about the elbow, but you were probably right to take a break insteadd of risking permanent damage.
